Venison forms a core part of our business and provides the basis for many of our courses and events. All of our deer are culled as part of sustainable deer management plans in woodlands and nature reserves. Living a stress-free life eating and moving as nature intended results in supremely tasty meat that is also extremely good for you. The meat has no added growth hormones, antibiotics and other chemicals. It is a very good, healthy source of complex proteins rare for red meat and usually only found in fish and some vegetables. It is also higher in iron and B vitamins and lower in calories and fat than beef and the fat it does contain is full of Omega-3 fatty acids.
We can show you how to butcher a whole deer and use every part of the animal on our Whole of the Deer courses.
We also run courses to teach you every part of the process from stalking to butchering and cooking the meat in our Stalk to Fork courses.
For ideas on how to cook this wonderful and often over-looked meat please see our Recipes page.
We do supply cuts of meat and can provide whole deer in skin or skinned so please get in touch if you would like to buy some and we can supply prices.
